When someone says “sunrise in the mountains,” it sounds romantic.
When the alarm goes off in the middle of the night — not so much 😄
Headlamps, darkness, and a very slow pace.
And somewhere along the way, the thought that some places taste best when the whole world is still asleep.
That’s how our journey up Mount Sinai began 🌄

The hike starts in the middle of the night. Headlamps on, cool air, and a pace where no one’s pretending to be a hero 😄
No one’s in a rush, no one feels like talking. The world ends a few meters ahead of you, and your thoughts stop at one question: whose idea was this?
You move step by step and suddenly realize the silence is doing a pretty good job. Your mind slows down, your body somehow keeps going on its own, and everything “important” stays somewhere far below.
And then dawn begins. No fireworks. No drama.
First a little brighter, then a little warmer. The sun rises calmly, like it has all the time in the world.
And then there’s only one thought:
alright… it was worth it after all 🌅
🔎 Mount Sinai – a few facts before the sun comes up 🌅
⛰️ It’s not the highest mountain around.
It’s about 2,285 m above sea level, but the views come from the space and the light, not the altitude.
🌍 A place sacred to three religions.
This is where, according to tradition, Moses received the Ten Commandments. No matter your beliefs — the atmosphere does its thing.
🌌 Most people hike up at night.
Not for the sport. For the silence, the cool air, and that moment when the world wakes up slowly, not to an alarm ⏰😄
🐪 Along the way, you might run into… camels.
Yes, even in the middle of the night. The local taxi for the seriously sleep-deprived.
☕ There are tea stops along the way.
Because on this trail, no one’s in a rush. Even sleepiness can be waited out here.
🌅 The sunrise doesn’t put on a show.
No fireworks. Just calm. And that’s exactly why it stays with you for a long time.
🎥 That moment when you don’t take any photos.
Because it all stays in your head anyway.
Getting up in the middle of the night wasn’t the best idea.
Sitting here at sunrise — a very good one 😄🌅
After the night hike, we were already running in power-saving mode.
He, on the other hand, posed like a runway model — calm, proud, and completely unbothered 🐪😎
Experience makes a difference.
It wasn’t a feat or a test of character.
Just a good morning in the right place 🌄
A bit cold, a bit sleep-deprived 😄 We sat down, looked around, and headed back down a little richer with one very good morning 😌
The rest of the world could wait a bit.
